period Modern familySide-split 11 years of running, there are many episodes full of high scores and all-around dysfunction. But the few moments in the show are as chaotic as captured in the arc of the two-part story of Season 1, “Airport 2010” and “Hawaii.” Between the forgotten wallet, the annoying TSA agent, the underperforming teenager and the painful back, almost everything that might go wrong with the holiday family is wrong.

So if Ty Burrell plays the silly but adorable daddy Phil Dunphy on the show, he wants to do everything he can to make sure other travelers don’t have the same headaches while on the road, there’s a good reason. To do this, Oregon native Burrell is calling now Salt Lake City Home, is joining forces with Chase and United Airlines to help them promote Joint MileagePlus Credit Card‘New and enhanced travel benefits. By surrounding a variety of scenes on the journey, Burrell strolls explain how the card can relieve stress from the inconspicuous travelers.

But, as the two Emmy winner explained in the following interview, he not only made us laugh in the terminal these days. He also runs restaurants in Utah, fishes in South America, and then returns to a notorious project breaking Bad TV dad.

If you could change things about the airport, what would it be?

The ceilings of the old airport are very low. This is a strange thing. But I just found it really is claustrophobia, especially when you’re sitting there for a long time. All new airports are bigger and more grand. Salt Lake International Airport is brand new.

ceiling?

It’s weird, but every time I go to the old airport, the ceiling is low. I always kind of like, “Oh man. We’re leaving.” But I think most (new) airports get really great and make the experience very comfortable.

Where did you go last year and leave the best memories?
Last year I went to Patagonia. I like fishing a lot. A good friend and I went fishing on a river called Caleufu in Patagonia. It’s just one of the experiences that burned into my brain forever. It pops up my brain all the time. Just a very magical place.

It’s so amazing, are you already planning to go there next time?

We are trying. We are working on recruiting some other fishing partners to go there, but that’s a promise. We also have families. My wife and kids were friendly and could let me go for a few days, but I couldn’t push it.

Where are you and your family having fun this year?

My next trip was very short and very close to Utah. I’m taking my daughter to a volleyball game Las Vegas. Not the most charming.

These events can be done all day long, right?

Oh, my goodness. Have you been to one? Three full days. They are about 14 hours. She is 13 years old. This is very intense. They go into the middle of the night all day. Then, they woke up and started playing again the next day. But I still kicked out of it. She really liked it, so I liked it very much.

We’re going, too ScotlandI’ve never been there. I brought my fishing rod. I’ve been browsing pictures and stuff. I’m very excited. We travel regularly with this (other) family. This is one of those active tours and will therefore be hiking and cycling regularly. I have to take shape for this.

You’ve talked about volleyball, hiking and cycling. So, is the family very active?

Yes, we are. That’s why we moved to Utah – outdoor activities. And everyone seemed to be very happy. But now I have teenagers and I am fighting my phone (to get their attention).

If you were my guide to Salt Lake City, what should we do?

Actually, I don’t do this often. What I want to say is, first, we’re going to drive to Park City. Of course I want to promote my own restaurant here, so we will Food and beverage agency. Then we’ll fish a little bit on the Webber River. I’ll take you to hike in the mountains and have lunch. What is the best lunch in Salt Lake? I really like it Finca. This is a great restaurant.

(After), maybe it was the motorcycle riding in the canyon. Immigration Canyon is one of those classic great motorcycle canyons. Then we might go to the real Salt Lake (football game), Utah jazz (basketball game), or now we have a hockey team.

Did they come up with a name?

No, I really hope we won’t. I love Utah Hockey Club. I like the generic name.

Salt Lake is a bit bad rap, there is nothing to do here. But it does seem like crazy.

What excites you the most about your new partnership with Chase and United?

I travel a lot. I’ve been flying for a long time and it’s great for working with people who are trying to make travel easier, easier and better. These cards all seem to be very beneficial. When you work with someone, you want to make sure you mean what you say and believe what you are saying. I really think these cards will improve people’s travel experience if you fly. However, hopefully, some allowances will attract some people to ride more at Manchester United as well.

Can you talk about upcoming acting roles?

I took a long break when we moved to Utah. But like six months ago, I started to itch again. So I kept negotiating with my family and left. I don’t think my teenager is minding whether I’ve gone a little bit. I do have a few things. I have a project with Bryan Cranston rope We are working hard.

I’m developing something for ABC right now. We are still early, but I’m sure itchy again. This is very interesting.

Is the project with you and Bryan a series or a movie?
This is a series. He will make and direct it. This is a fool’s idea. It is based on (his idea), he owns an old series, he owns (intellectual property) rope If this makes sense, filter my green as the old series. So I’m the only one not in the original series of the 50s. My conversations are different. Yes, it’s wild. But we did a proof of concept and we had a very enjoyable time. Very interesting.
